*Job Description:* Our office in Kinshasa, DRC seeks a driver to ensure office staff are driven safely to meetings, workshops, and other work-related destinations ; and that the vehicle under his/her charge is maintained in an optimal working condition, delivery and pick-up, reporting, operations, service, safety and maintenance, and other duties as assigned by management.
*Key Responsibilities:* * Safely transport staff and approved personnel to the required locations in a timely, safe and courteous manner * Maintain records for vehicle, log official trips, record daily mileage, record the use of fuel vouchers, complete pre-trip inspections and keep records on consumption . * Reporting deliveries promptly and accurately, submitting daily trip reports, and informing supervisor r of outstanding conditions. * Ensure availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, registration, logs, office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts are in the vehicle . * Ensure safety and custody of the vehicle, including tools. Report any unsafe equipment to your supervisor * Maintain Vehic le Equipment Inventory * Maintain the service and appearance of vehicle * Report any needed repairs or special maintenance to your supervisor immediately * Adhere to all motor safety requirements, obey all traffic laws and regulations. * Drive defensively * Should not carry passengers who have not been approved by the supervisor * Able to respond to after-hours calls from supervisor, management * Deliver and pickup, in the most efficient, economical l manner possible. * Obtain clearance for field trips where necessary * Ensure that, in the event of an accident involving the office vehicle, the necessary steps required by rules and regulations are followed * Actively participates in organization and operations unit meetings * Perform duties as requested by management
*Basic Qualifications:* * Minimum of secondary/high school academic certificate * Val id driver's license * 5 years' work experience as a driver in a reputable organization with a safe driving record * Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, driver's protocol and courtesies * Conversant with the road network and traffic regulations of Kenya * Skills in minor vehicle repairs * Fluency in oral and written English. * Elementary use of computers (e.g. email, internet, word processing)
