Job Description ICF is adding staff to its energy efficiency team in the Portland, Oregon to support a wide range of energy efficiency programs. Our clients include utilities, recognizable Fortune 500 global corporations, as well as a variety of industry, and government organizations. We are seeking an Energy Efficiency specialist to support our Engineering Team and to take a significant role in the implementation of programs that will deliver and expand our offerings. The strongest candidates will have a mechanical engineering degree or meaningful in-building work experience with HVAC systems and control applications to help promote the adoption of energy efficiency in commercial buildings. This team member will play a key role in implementing utility funded energy efficiency programs, reviewing energy studies and design documents, identifying new efficiency opportunities, calculating energy savings potential of measures using Excel and energy simulation, writing technical reports, and supporting other efforts to increase energy efficiency in new commercial buildings. There will be opportunities to work on cross-team projects involving every aspect of energy efficiency, spanning all energy end uses in commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities * Work as part of a team ensuring that the evaluation, implementation and verification of energy efficiency projects are successfully executed * Provide technical assistance and guidance on energy efficient technologies and practices to our clients * Review technical reports, engineering calculations and cost estimates for energy efficiency projects for small commercial customers * Interface with contractors installing energy efficiency projects for a wide range of commercial and industrial customers * Conduct electric and gas energy using equipment surveys to verify installation and operation of energy efficiency equipment


Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Sciences, Engineering, Business or related subject is preferred, other degrees and/or experience will be considered. * 3 years of energy efficiency or equivalent trade experience (Electrical or HVAC contracting) * Demonstrated knowledge of building controls, motors, domestic hot water and HVAC systems

Preferred Skills/Experience * Certified Energy Managers or PE, or Engineer in Training * Experience with Retrocommissioning, energy audits, and energy savings calculations * Basic knowledge of electric and gas systems, commercial building energy technologies * Experience performing energy audits and energy savings calculations * Interacting with all levels of commercial, industrial, and government clients Professional Skills * Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills * Excellent technical and non-technical writing and communication abilities * Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making capabilities * Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment * Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information * Ability to apply detailed knowledge of organizational procedures to make independent decisions and serve as a credible resource for a senior management team * Ability to analyze technical issues and convey conclusions to diverse technical and non-technical audiences * Ability to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors * Intermediate to advanced skills with energy modeling software (eQUEST, Energy Plus, DOE-2.2, 2.2R, etc.) * Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
