ICF is currently seeking expressions of interest from qualified experts in biodiversity conservation to fill a Deputy Chief of Party (DCoP) position for an upcoming USAID-funded project in Peru. The project aims to (1) support the adaptive management of USAID programs under the Amazon Vision, and (2) improve knowledge and evidence for the conservation of Amazon biodiversity and climate change mitigation.
This position will be based in Lima, Peru.
Hiring for this position is contingent upon funding.
The DCoP will have project management responsibilities and will work to ensure coordination and integration across all project components, and will oversee the M&E plan development and implementation.
_Required Qualifications:_ * Advanced graduate degree in a relevant field. * At least 8 years of professional experience in international program management, preferably including senior management experience, and preferably including experience with biodiversity conservation and/or climate change mitigation in Peru. * Experience with comprehensive monitoring and evaluation plan development, indicator design and selection, monitoring systems, and data quality assurance tools. * Strong familiarity with biodiversity and climate change issues in Peru, and with Peruvian political and socioeconomic contexts. * Demonstrated experience of effective collaboration with a variety of stakeholders, including government agencies, academia, non-governmental organizations, and civil society including indigenous people organizations. * Strong communication skills. * Experience designing and implementing strategies to effectively communicate program results to targeted audiences. * Proficiency in English and Spanish. * Ability to travel within and outside Peru up to 25-30% of the time. * Eligibility to work in Peru.
- Experience and familiarity with USAID s monitoring and evaluation policy, approaches, terminology, and procedures.
- Understanding of the use of theories of change as the basis for designing and managing projects and programs.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills including the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize competing responsibilities, and respond flexibly to changing priorities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with clients, partners, and team members.
- Advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint experience.
