Senior Sales Executive Commercial Energy, Program Implementation Description Commercial Energy Division Market Development Function (Sales) Western U.S. (prefer at an ICF office, but may be home based for the right candidate)
Job Description ICF is seeking a Senior Sales Executive to secure new clients and projects in our Commercial Energy Division. The Senior Sales Executive will provide sales, account development, and related services primarily in support of energy efficiency programs offered by utilities and other program administrators. The geographic focus of the position will be the western United States The position will be responsible for identifying new opportunities to offer energy efficiency, demand response, and related programs, and will include monitoring of legislation and regulation, identification and prioritization of target accounts, identification of RFP timing, collection of competitive intelligence, and support of the capture and proposal development processes. Of key importance will be the development of extensive personal relationships with target accounts and the early introduction of ICF services and subject matter experts. The position will work closely with ICF region and local leadership, and coordinate extensively with service line leaders and subject matter experts. The primary measure of success for this position is incremental sales of program implementation services to new clients. The position will be part of the Commercial Energy Sales Team, and will report to the Senior Vice President, Sales. This position requires approximately 35% travel. Previous technical and/or sales expertise with energy efficiency, demand response, or distributed energy resources is required.
Responsibilities: Building and maintaining relationships with utility and third-party program administrator clients Monitoring state legislative and regulatory changes and identifying resultant opportunities Promoting ICF program and consulting services, including development of targeted value propositions Developing, qualifying and nurturing sales leads and playing a leadership role in pipeline development and tracking Leading sales efforts on key identified leads, including developing and implementing quality capture and proposal plans, developing and managing partner relationships, creating winning strategies, and supporting proposal development and client presentations Closing sales and meeting annual sales goals Maintaining strong ongoing relationships with clients Contributing to ICF s industry presence at conferences and through support of marketing activities Collecting competitive intelligence Contributing to the development of new products and services
Basic Qualifications: 5 years of experience with sales or consulting, preferably selling energy efficiency, demand response, or distributed resource programs to utilities. Proven sales record and ability to meet sales goals Demonstrated capabilities in building and maintaining relationships with clients key market allies. Computer experience, with proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) Bachelor s Degree (preferably in the Sciences, Engineering, or Business related subject) Excellent driving record Excellent interpersonal skills with strong outreach and communications abilities
Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience personally overseeing the delivery of related programs, either as a consultant or as a client Knowledge of advanced topics in energy efficiency, DR, and DER program planning and policy Extensive existing relationship with potential clients
