ICF is looking for a Residential Indoor Air Subject Matter Expert. Client is located in the DC Metro Area, but position can be based out of other ICF offices across the country.

At ICF, you'll be providing technical and market expertise for our residential energy efficiency projects that support government programs such as EPA ENERGY STAR and Indoor airPLUS programs. The successful candidate will provide expert consultation in indoor air programs, support the management of ICF program teams, and conduct outreach to home builders, utilities and other industry stakeholders. This position requires technical expertise in indoor air quality, knowledge of indoor air programs, strong public speaking and writing skills, and strategic insights into outreach to the residential construction industry.


What you ll be doing * Provide expert consultation on IAQ and indoor air programs. * Develop recommendations for EPA program expansion with regard to low-emission materials, new IAQ technologies, and innovative HVAC design approaches. * Develop and implement market outreach strategies that capitalize on indoor air protocols and guidelines. * Conduct outreach to builders, HVAC contractors, utilities, raters and other stakeholders; and be able to explain ENERGY STAR, Indoor airPLUS or other program details. * Deliver sales training to individual builders, and other outreach activities. * Review technical inquiries and provide recommendations on program revisions. * Assist EPA in outreach and growth in the multifamily and affordable housing sectors. * Develop written technical reports and marketing materials. * Support management in the oversight of deliverables, project scope, budget, and team leadership.

Qualifications

What you ll need... * Bachelor's Degree in building science or related field * 8 years of related residential sector work experience * IAQ, HVAC and building science expertise * Experience communicating energy efficiency and indoor air quality technical and non - technical material * Knowledge of EPA's Indoor airPlus or other IAQ programs * Knowledge of ENERGY STAR * Understanding of particulate matter and its impacts * Experience with research and design and methodology * Green building experience or certifications are a plus (HERS Ratings, LEED, BPI, etc. Professional skills we'd like you to have... * Polished professional demeanor and experience with managing project teams * Team player with the ability to work and lead in a fast paced environment * Able to work independently with minimum supervision and take ownership of tasks * Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills * Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making capabilities * Ability to work in large, complex, matrix organizations * Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn EPA energy efficiency database
