Description:

The Financial Systems Manager will provide overall guidance and leadership to ensure the successful implementation, ongoing maintenance and continued improvement of the core financial accounting platform (Deltek Costpoint). The position requires strong IT skills combined with practical experience and a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices. This is a management position within the Corporate IT team and requires excellent project and people management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

*Key Responsibilities:* * Provide overall management, guidance and direction to ensure successful delivery of IT related financial project initiatives. * Work closely with all support departments/customers (Finance, Accounting, HR, Contracts, Procurement, Pricing, etc) to understand current practices and system usage, and perform gap analysis against best practices. Work with functional leads to drive change towards best practices. * Responsible for establishing a community of practice for finance team member as a means of sharing knowledge and best practices and providing a forum to discuss issues or struggles. * Lead and establish a strategy for training and stakeholder engagement to understand pain points and how to address them. * Think and plan strategically for long-term system growth and agility. * Assess system requirements and operational needs, including integration with other systems, interfaces, and workflow enhancements. * Develop forward looking strategies to leverage financial and business information technologies. * Provide Costpoint technical/functional expertise to support departments/customers and champion the adoption of best practices to include creation of training and manuals. * Act as lead for Costpoint upgrades and issue resolution. Owner of Costpoint roadmap and strategy for evolving. * Review an advise on system setups for labor, Time & Expense, Leave, and other Costpoint modules. * Play key role for the annual year-end roll forward project. * Support internal control efforts in conjunction with our SOX compliance program. * Manage interfaces and automated data jobs to ensure efficiency, and lead effort to migrate interfaces to current technologies. * Advocate change control and issue resolution processes, formal release schedules, and release management processes. * Work with software vendors, particularly Deltek, to ensure prompt application of software updates/changes/modifications. * Perform comprehensive Costpoint/Time & Expense administration. * Ensure financial system uptime and user satisfaction through system monitoring and performance tuning. * Results oriented and deliver solutions on tight deadlines.

Qualifications

*Basic Qualifications:* * Bachelor s degree in Accounting and/or Computer Science * 10 years experience delivering IT-related financial project initiatives * 5 years experience working with Costpoint * Strong understanding of web based application environments * Knowledge of accounting, particularly government contractor regulations * Extensive experience implementing / improving Accounting, HR, and Payroll processes * Ability to trace transactions/processes through its full lifecycle and able to assess impact on all affected systems. * Experience with developing Cognos reports * Extensive experience working with SQL, data extraction, data transformation, and data loading.

*Preferred Skills/Experience:* * CPA * Previous experience administering Deltek Time & Expense

*Professional Skills:* * Self-starter with a mind for continuous improvement and strategic thinking * Ability to handle sensitive materials and maintain the highest level of confidentiality * Problem solving capabilities, particularly bridging IT and Accounting * Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
