Job Description:


ICF's Commercial Energy Division is growing and we re seeking an experienced manager to join our residential energy efficiency and demand response (DR) team. The DR program manager will help launch and manage an innovative residential demand response program. This role requires the candidate to develop an understanding of how consumers can reduce electric consumption during peak periods to balance supply and demand on the grid. Moreover, candidates will need to develop a strong understanding of programmable communicating thermostats (PCT), and Distributed Energy Management Systems (DERMS). A successful candidate will develop forecasts and scenario models, create an engaging marketing strategy, while applying industry best practices. Building relationships and trust with clients, and working collaboratively with internal outside partners will be key to implementing a best-in-class program. ICF Team members bring expertise that balances industry experience, business model and strategy expertise, and consulting and analytical skills. Experience engaging with clients, people and organizations across the residential energy efficiency market and an understanding of client s needs and key market drivers is essential.

Key Responsibilities:


  • All phases of program development to include: theory, design, delivery, and the successful execution of utility based programs
  • Develop comprehensive plans to include: resource/labor, communication, implementation, project and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC)
  • Track program progress and provide leadership with updates and trends
  • Manage program forecasts, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Mentor, lead, and collaborate with program team members
  • Build and maintain relationships while driving businesses toward the implementation of energy performance improvements through the use of existing market knowledge and proven energy efficient technologies
  • Generate market trend analysis reports and provide thought-leadership for implementation strategies
  • Present recommendations to the utility client(s)
  • Participation in relevant conferences, webinars and events for market research, emerging trends and innovative solutions

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:


  • Minimum of a Bachelor s Degree from an accredited institution
  • 5 years of strategic planning and/or project management
  • 5 years of experience developing, designing, managing and executing successful projects
  • 5 years of consulting experience
  • 5 years of experience managing a team (both in-house and remote/virtual)

Preferred Skills/Experience: * 5 years of experience working in utility rebate programs or the energy efficiency sector * Basic understanding of demand response in relation to utility energy grids * Ability to establish influential partnerships at all levels * Strategic mindset with the ability to identify new opportunities * Demonstrated experience with business development and client development * Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement and quality assurance/control theories, techniques and application * Recognized internally and externally for expertise in functional area * Firm understanding in procurement best practices and contract administration * Industry certifications, professional affiliations, and publications
